Mrs. Brakke always sticks out in my mind. She was my 6th grade teacher and I really liked her (although after teaching our class she REFUSED to EVER teach 6th grade again and went down to like 3rd grade or something). She definitely had spunk and she loved her job.
Not to mention that my family probably sees her at least once a year volunteering making origami and always asks how I am doing...even all these years later.
I don't know about "favorite" or "least favorite," but Mr. Hansen, my fifth grade teacher sticks out in my mind. He was a nice enough teacher and all. I think he always liked me because I was short. I remember being out at recess one day and when he blew the whistle to go back inside, he picked me up by my ankles and walked me back into the classroom upside down in front of the entire class. I wouldn't say looking back at that moment that his actions were the most appropriate for a teacher...in fact...nowadays I'm sure he could've been sued for such actions...but it didn't scar me for life or anything. It was just something funny that happened. Maybe that's why I remember it so well. It goes back to a time when people could just be people and not always have to worry about who was going to sue who for some oddity. Sometimes I long for those days way back when...
Mr. Reynolds, my fifth and sixth grade teacher. I imagine that's because I don't remember a lot from my childhood and I had him twice and they were my last years in elementary. I remember him feeling sorry for me because I would always take a lot of my books home to do my homework. He would take my backback for me down the hallway after school because it was heavy.
I remember most of my elementary school teachers but none of them really stand out in my mind. I mostly remember that they ALL (except one) seemed REALLY old. But then most of them didn't die until I was at least in my 20's or dolder so they couldn't have been that old. I more remember some of the kids I went to school with.
